New Here?

Hey there! I'm Daniel O'Brien, the Head Writer and Creative Director of Video for Cracked.com. This used to exist as the online home of my free novella, "Bartender." On June 30, 2014, I destroyed it forever. Have a great day!

I justed wanted to let you know how awesome you are. Your mind blowingly funny writing got me hooked on Cracked.com and introduced me to Michael Swaim and Soren Bowie and for that I wanted to thank you. Keep up the good work.

Hullo :) Read the novella, thought it was awesome. I'm a freelance writer/editor/proofreader. If you ever need that skillset, look me up here; I'd be happy to work for free on something like this. See? Not being a filthy scammer, but a real person who genuinely thought this was hilarious, if in need of a tiny bit of typo-fixing, etc. Would love to help. :)

xx Rebecka

I will comment here because I do not completely know how to work tumblr.

It restores one's faith in humanity to see someone take a stand such as yours about your own work. For what it is worth, congratulations on the personal growth and using your platform to try to make this world better. Your mom should be proud. Also, thank you for the heads up, I was about 70% through the story when I saw the tumblr post and it would have hurt my feelings if I didn't get to see the end.

The reason I'm even speaking up is to the impression I got from your post that you will be deleting the story completely and altogether. While removing a story you deem too violent from the public is commendable, I would humbly recommend that you keep a copy for yourself. If you were going to do that anyway, nevermind. If you are indeed thinking of destroying your work, please consider that you wrote this for your own pleasure celebrating really positive relationships in your life. It would be a reminder of things you enjoyed from a simpler time. Even if you will read your work through a different lens, the personal memories that inspired your story will still be brought back. If nothing else, you can pull out this nugget once in a while to see how much smarter you have gotten over time.

Of course, your work is your own to do with what you will. As a fan, I enjoy so much of your writing and didn't want to see any of it mistreated so. Thank you for listening to a stranger go on.

The new trend in bartending is “molecular mixology”. A new funky bartending term used to describe the use of mixing cocktail drinks with non-traditional ingredients. Molecular mixology is the art of taking flavors we are used to ingesting in liquid form and turning them around so we get solid cocktails and alcoholic foams, sprays, and smoke—sensations we don’t typically associate with happy hour.

How come you took everything down? Is it for sale anywhere, or something? Because I was really interested by what little I know of it. :(

Just curious on what your insight...what happens after the movie "Meet Joe Black" ends? It is obviously the superior of the two films, but the remake leaves so much up in the air. What chaos descends afterward?

Don't know if you'll ever see this, but I wanted to say thanks for being how fucking awesome you are. I get so much joy re-watching old After Hours and Obsessive Pop Culture Disorder Episodes. Also thanks for giving me pride in being a super awkward nerd.
